My life is a series of thresholds that I overcome through poetry. Love, loss, pain, regret, humor, irony, word play, and even sarcasm are as much apart of my life as they are central to my poems here. I am Thresheld. UPDATE: It's been quite a few years since I started this book, and it has become rather prolific. I am currently working on organizing my poetry to make it easy to navigate. For now I've posted my recommendations and a few favorite shorts. Feel free to check out anything here there is no order you need to read in and there isn't any separation of emotional content so who knows what you might get. Isa's Scars
Sticks and bones may break my bones but bones will heal. These scars won't fade. She was fine. Fun. Chill. Always with a smile or a joke. She pretends she's fine, that nothing's wrong, that her smile is every bit as real as her cuts. She has people who need her, people who rely on her but she's slowly slipping away from them and they have no idea what's happening to her. She doesn't know what changed but it was sudden, like someone flicking a light switch, engulfing her and everyone around her in darkness. Isa's scars Betty's sight Ali's broken Sean's love Elle's disappearing I didn't write this to make the stuff in it seem glamorous, I wrote it to show that it does happen and if nothing is done it won't get any better. Walking into an empty house is normal to me. I guess I got tired of saying 'I'm home' when nobody is home to reply. It wasn't always like this. I remember when our family was close.
