Most people believe that physical abuse is the worst abuse out there, and truly the only one being talked about. After you read this book you will understand that there are other types of abuse that destroy people's lives all around the world.
Of course, people think physical abuse is the worst because of the lingering evidence, evidence that sometimes you just can't hide with a hoodie. The bruises the wounds the ligatures, these are all inside the victim when it comes to psychological abuse. Yes, harder to see, but it is still there. Words leave wounds, stares leave wounds, sounds leave wounds, etc. If you are unable to grasp this heavy topic and understand it, then I encourage you to read this book and educate yourself on psychological abuse.
This book is about Anna Bryan who has gone to hell and back to put it simply. You will learn that a lot could go on inside one tiny girl's body, something no one could understand unless really put in the same position. You will see how she made it out with a smile and passion to be someone who matters.
This book is to raise awareness for all people going through psychological abuse. I love you all and I am always here for you. Never forget that!

"If you love me, you won't leave me." Jessie has believed those words from her boyfriend, Josh, since senior year of high school. She loves him and doesn't want to leave him. Not even when he shouts at her and hits her. Jessie's best friend, Kolleen, can't stand seeing her in that situation. With a bit of convincing - and the worst beating she'd ever received - Jessie agrees to move into an apartment with Kolleen. But not long after, Jessie is scared the worst of her nightmares will soon become a reality. Josh goes missing, and suddenly Jessie would swear she's being followed. One night changes everything, and one person soon changes Jessie's outlook. A responding officer from that fateful night begins to seek her out, at first claiming it's part of his job. As she spends time with her new friend outside of his job, she starts realizing that her feelings are evolving. After being abused for over a year, Jessie is terrified she's falling in love. What's even more terrifying is that he might be, too. She isn't ready for love. Not yet. She makes up her mind that if he is falling, and if he does love her, he'll wait for her to be ready, and if she loves him, she won't let herself hurt him. A novel of personal growth By Ms. B This story is about how I survived an abusive marriage for 10 years. How I eventually plucked up the courage to walk away and how I survived the months that followed. How I realised that I wasn't the only one who felt an obligation and loyalty to my abuser. How I realised how many woman stay in the relationship because they are conditioned to believe that they will never survive on their own. How abuse becomes such an integral part of your life that you can't seem to survive without it. This book is dedicated to all those women who have been through abuse, emotional, physical, sexual and verbal. To all those women who are still going through it, I hope my story gives you some courage to walk away. Some courage to realise that you don't deserve it, you never deserved it. Courage to realise that there is life after abuse. There is happiness waiting for you. This book is also dedicated to my life lines, all the people in my inner circle who saved me. My friends, my colleagues, my family, my psychiatrist and my psychologist. This is my story.
