Connections: Stories
From a simple conversation happening between two Filipina astronauts, to an individual confessing his true feelings to the person he loves, to a failed missing person's investigation and the lover searching for his whereabouts in the Philippines, to a story about the woeful memories surrounding a rabbit plushie in the United Kingdom; a conversation happening between people at night with a campfire, about spirits and passion, in Norway; to a dying animal's thoughts about the person that saved it, to the letters given to the person that matters to one's life, to a man trapped in a cursed town and more. These 30 stories compiled in the months of August 2023 - February 2024, made in handwritten yellow pad papers and shared to the world for the first time shows that there are ways we find to connect with others through the stories we tell to one another. Stories dealing with the loss of a loved one, the horrors of reality, about the challenges faced in life, a longing for the person we loved, the laughter shared in-between, the hopes we treasure for tomorrow and beyond and of the little interactions that happen in life. It is through the attachments, love, support, consistency, determination and dreams do we find the will to push through and accomplish what needs to be done that is set out for us to tackle. Goals and art; sacrifices made and understood; and the belief that chasing the dream is all worth it and that it helps us connect and inspire us to do what matters the most. I suppose this is the point where your life is supposed to flash before your eyes as time itself freezes - and it did in a way. But I didn't relive my life physically like walking through an old memory, déjà vu in each step. It was a feeling, something that started in my chest and spread to my fingertips, one so unique to me that it encapsulated each significant event into one single second." A dirty window before her, the grim obstructing her vision, she has lived with a loss she can't identify - that is until one rainy night. Some things you just can't avoid, like falling in love. As much as you try to avoid, or search for it, it always seems to find you, or elude you. It seemed to find me every corner I turned, and I always tried to avoid it but alas, for some unknown reason, it found me.
