The ninja discover that Kai holds secrets that even his dear sister doesn't know. Secrets that may tug at the teams trust in him and shake the foundation on which their friendships stand.
On top of that, a new enemy has risen and seems interested in Kai in particular. Who are they? What do they want with Kai? And what does this have to do with his hidden past?
Lastly... Just what or who are the elements of destruction?

A whole year has passed after Nya's sacrifice. Many of the Ninja had deserted from the team to do their own personal things, however that wouldn't last too long when they all learn about a Herald buying vengestones and recruiting old villains. And although the powerful Sea Serpent Wojira has been defeated, an even greater and more dangerous power will soon emerge from the shadows and threaten to bring peace in the dark. Not just Ninjago, but all of the 16 Realms. Will the Ninja be the same without Nya? Will they prevail against this Darkness or will they all perish and let everything they have protected so hard be consumed before their very eyes? Will the Ninja protect those who can not protect themselves? Will the Ninja be able to stand up against those who are cruel and unjust? After finally starting to face his Father as the Green Ninja in Battle, Lloyd has to face his most dangerous threat yet: highschool. But maybe after finding the other Elemental Masters he'll finally have the family he longed oh so badly for. Mostly Lloyd-centric fic cuz he's my child and I love him very much Lloyds mom abandoned him in this when he was a baby for - at least for Lloyd - unknown reasons (so basically his mom in this is Misako, not koko) Lloyd was raised and homeschooled by Wu, who took him in. "Well, Lloyd Beojkkoch, nice to meet you. I'm Kai Smith," Kai introduced himself. "Very unpleasant to meet you, Kai Smith," Lloyd dead-panned. Kai chuckled at this point. "You're quite the difficult one, Beojkkoch." 🐉🔥🐉🔥 After being kept inside the protective walls of the Palace of Secrets for years, the young Crown Prince of Ninjago sneaks out into the city only to meet a red clad ninja candidate. A very complicated relationship starts to build itself between them. Neither one of them is aware how significant roles they will play in each other's lives. Together, they are thrown in the deep end as they get kidnapped by the evil forces that plot against the empire. Together, the two must survive and make their way back to Ninjago City in order to stop what ends up not only causing darkness, but also great loss, agony and hardships. Together, they must defeat the unexpected traitor and restore peace to the land of Ninjago. On their way, a flower shall bloom. 🔥🐉🔥🐉 The ninja don't have elemental powers and Zane is a human in this story. Also, this story was inspired by the original Outside My Comfort Zone by Kestrel. (May have huge gaps between upload times but this story will be finished, that I can promise) Everyone thinks of Kai as a selfish person who puts himself before others and many other negative things. As Kai's time as a ninja, he always heard these comments and he couldn't do anything about it so he has to bottle his feelings whenever people say this. One day when he was on a mission with Cole to save some adventurous that got stuck in a narrow cave a disaster struck on Kai. After the mission Cole got all the thanks and Kai got none, Cole was the only one who truly understood what happened. Kai gets sick of how he is being treated and leaves to have a walk to take his mind off of things... but then he meets someone he didn't expect to meet... Non-canon ships are not implied but take it as you wish, just not greenflame because no.
