Teenagers Eliza and Darien are neighbours and their parents are friends, but the two of them never seem to get along.
When a promise to an old friend of their parents requires them to volunteer an entire summer at a retirement home, it is left up to them to decide which one of them will take up the job that neither of them want to take.
Eliza and Darien come up with a bet, they will both give each other some dares and the first one to back out loses and has to take up the job.
During this time they tend to find each other slightly less hate-able, what is in store for them.
