They are internists or internal medicine physicians. 

Yes, there are such kinds of doctors. Those who are experts in complexity. Those who specialize in adult medicine. Are specially trained to solve diagnostic problems. Those who manage severe long-term illnesses. And those who help patients with multiple, complex chronic conditions. They're just like surgeons, but they don't do surgery to treat us. They just treat us.

They are internists. Not interns, not medical students. But an internist. One that should be called when you do have more than one illness to deal with. 

They are good at it, at handling multiple problems . . . in our body. Because they are internists.
