    atm, I have only watched season 1 of Kakegurui, but I'm watching season 2
    
    Don't question it, but in this AU, you go to high school twice, 3 years each, Karasuno was Hinata's first high school, Hyakkaou Private academy is Hinata's second high school, He is still considered a first year though (This private academy is everyone's 2nd high school)
    
    Hinata Shoyou had just graduated Karasuno. But due to a bad car crash, he couldn't continue to play volleyball. His little sister Natsu and his mom are in a hospital on the other side of the country recovering. Hinata himself had been in a hospital that was about an hour away from Miyagi recovering for about 2 months. His legs had been paralyzed temporarily, and if he didn't want to damage them permanently , he couldn't put any strain on them. He was devastated, no more volleyball, his family had been taken away, he didn't have anyone to take care of him- or that's what he thought at least. It turns out his cousin, who was in her 2nd year in her second high school, had offered to become his caretaker. He was to live with her and go to school with her, she would also help pay the medical bills for her cousin and aunt.
