It's Halloween week and in the sprawling, corporate metropolis of Hollowsfield, USA, spirits are high (metaphorically and literally!).
Humble narrator and aspiring guitarist Finn Robinson details the not-so-horrifying and more-so-annoying events leading up to Halloween day, as he and his older brother Demarcus find themselves plagued by a mischievous and thieving creature called a grabtko, this one in particular being responsible for a series of break-ins and even murders in several neighboring homes.
With no other options, Finn, Demarcus and their vampire friend Maren Direwood must simply wait out the creature until Halloween day. Sound strange? Welcome to Hollowsfield. This is the norm, bucko!
