Elizabeth Black was born to one Daisy Evans, the younger sister of Lily and Petunia Evans, and a Mr. Sirius Padfoot Black. Shortly after the birth of Harry Potter, Daisy also brought a child into the world. Sadly, the new mum passed due to unknown birthing complications, leaving Black to raise a little girl all on his own.

A few months go by and the news of James and Lily Potter's murder flies around the world, leaving Sirius Black as the number one suspect. When he is sent to Azkaban, Remus is deemed unfit to care for a child, and Elizabeth is taken in by Mr. Severus Snape himself.

Snape was so distraught over what occurred with Lily and Daisy, and he felt so guilty over Harry's new arrangements that he felt he should make it up by caring for another Evans child. 

Elizabeth Snape grew up at Hogwarts, and Sirius taught her all she needed to know about potions and defending herself against the dark arts. 

When a couple of identical pranksters waltz into class the year before Elizabeth is off to attend Hogwarts herself, she is immediately enthralled by their personalities. The boys, being charmed themselves, insisted on Miss Snape assisting  their latest prank by stealing special potion ingredients from Severus' personal store. This sparks a lasting friendship between the three, one so strong they couldn't bear to part for even 3 months. Snape disliked the Weasley's, but he knew they would care for who he believed to be his little girl, so he reluctantly agreed to let her stay with them over her last summer before her classes begin.
