Also this is a mix of diary entries/letters and a narrative form(?) 

Given away by her father and kingdom, Veronica spends her childhood years with the queen of witches, Myra. She is forbidden to leave the tower she calls home without Myra's permission. Kailin, a young boy around her age, finds himself in the same situation as her. After being saved from a group of traffickers by Myra, Veronica finds her wanting to follow in her footsteps.
