Alright, so I'm bad at describing this book in the best possible way, so please bare with me.
Also this is a mix of diary entries/letters and a narrative form(?)
Given away by her father and kingdom, Veronica spends her childhood years with the queen of witches, Myra. She is forbidden to leave the tower she calls home without Myra's permission. Kailin, a young boy around her age, finds himself in the same situation as her. After being saved from a group of traffickers by Myra, Veronica finds her wanting to follow in her footsteps. This, however, changes once she is betrayed by Myra and forced into a program with the purpose to turn her into a weapon.

Life As A Shadow Knight
Ofelia believed that her father left her behind to die the day the Shadow Knights invaded her home. She remembered thinking that it was her end, but it wasn't due to the Shadow Knight's kindness to bring her in sympathetically. They too had experienced similar betrayal to Ofelia and that's why she's one them. Her main goal is to get the Shadow Lord to the top of world and to kill her father. That's all there is to it. But's that not the way it was supposed to be. Ofelia finds her home, destroyed and revisits her house and finds her diary, a scrapbook, and a bracelet, all of which will guide her down a path that she closed off and forgot about. It also leaves her to question everything she's ever thought and ever done when the truth finally reveals itself.
