Horrified: A Poetic Lullaby

Have you ever felt like you were living in a dream?
Something so unfortunate that tales told don't do it the justice it serves?
That if you could wish for an even more perfect depth of perception it could bring new realities to light?
Horror.
That is where the mind goes.
Yet that is what we all dream for.
Yearn for.
That oh-so simple place that dawns such realities as fear.
A perfect understanding of what it means to grasp at the very things you hope for, only to have them stripped away.
The tricks the mind plays on its victims and breaks through each barrier to a much darker place.
We're all living the same dream.
And tonight that nightmare becomes reality.
