Ashton was gifted with powers, so was Erik and with the help of Charles Xavier's school for gifted youngsters she was able to control and understand her powers without being judged. Erik becomes an English professor at the school and when Ashton goes off the rails after a tragic death, Erik finally confesses his longing feelings for her.

New trouble arises, old friends return, and new ones appear. A peaceful simple life is all that Liesel had every really wanted, shame that it is the complete opposite to what Erik wishes for.
