I know my friend is the impostor. But I don't want to reveal it. If I have to, I'll turn on my fellow crewmates, even if I'm one myself. I will make sure she gets what she wants: Victory.

"There are two impostors among us"

I knew the security cameras were useless. They informed the impostors as to when someone was watching. It would be no use. I thus sat at the admin table, referring to the layout of the vent system of this spaceship while looking at the hologram.

Suddenly, the icon of a person suddenly teleported from electrical to medbay. I stood up, pushing my chair back. There were two people in electrical beforehand. One teleported to Medbay. They must have vented! If the other person in electrical was alive, they were definitely the other impostor. I ran out of admin to the medbay to check who it was. The impostor was very likely to spare me seeing that I was on high suspicion. Furthermore, he or she didn't know that I was using admin.

I peeked into medbay. I had fully expected it to be someone like Berry or Ray. But no. In the medbay was someone else...

The door slid open without a sound and I found myself punched in the gut. All along the walls were pictures of friends and family. How could I take this away from someone? All of this opportunity and hope? Who was I to decide that he should die? I saw fearful grey eyes staring up at me. "I'm sorry about this. It'll be over soon." Looking away, I slit his throat. His body fell to the ground with a thud and I took a step back. I had just killed someone whose name I didn't even know... K'dela has always been trained to always follow orders. No matter how you think about it, no matter how wrong it seems to be, never, ever, question it. Your life might depend on it. But when orders are to kill others, doesn't it mean that you're sacrificing others, potentially thousands of others, just to save one life; yourself? Honestly, K'dela never had a big problem with it, until she met someone who might just be worth defying orders for. TRIGGER WARNING: Violence, blood, death. "Just send a message back to HQ. See what their response is." "I can't." The entire room seemed to stand on end. "What the hell do you mean, 'I can't'?! You're the captain of this mission!" Lime exclaimed. "I can't. When Blue and Orange came in, Comms had suddenly shut down." The room burst into panic and chaos again, but all Vac'shar could do was smirk. Hunter and prey. And now when the time to strike appeared again, they would be ready. Everyone is the hero in their own story. With the world stacked against him, Vac'shar has still managed to raise his son and protect him from anyone else who might try and kill them both. But when Tenavik shows interest in the missions, what else could Vac'shar do other than let him come along with him and advocate for his dreams? Who's to blame when the blood flows? "Hey! I don't want to go back! I tap out. Turn my soul into particles. I refuse!" I was unwilling. I had goals before all of this. I was once naive until everything changed. Nonsense! "Host, there's no need for drama. Accept your fate." I reached for anything-air, darkness, anything! The struggle felt so real. The terror and horror of returning to that place overwhelmed me. I loved them, yes, but not enough to endure that suffering again. I am a flower. A fragile flower. What they did to me was- "I don't want to go! I refuse to comply." "Host, do you want her to have them?" The system's cold voice whispered. Startled, I released my grip on the darkness, allowing my soul to be drawn away. "Your decision was wise, but as punishment, two more males will be added. Their last lives served well; it's a pity they'll be taken by another." The voice continued, but the host was unaware. She would discover the truth upon her arrival. To add intrigue, the latter parts were erased, allowing her to accept them without fear. The system smirked knowingly. This is my second life. I am still utterly confused about how I ended up in this situation. A choker made from my own tears. The man I thought was my big foster brother turned out to be-non-human. And me? I am human; I think I am. I sit in his lap, curled into a ball of loss. I feel so lost; I just don't understand. I claimed them, and then the world ended. It's enough that it ended. But why did they become powerful shifters while I mutated into a dud? I'm so confused that I want to cry, but I can't; I don't want their 'care.'

"Congratulations, Miss Duri. You're leading the fifty-fifth voyage to Polus." My initial giddiness wore away under a new and frankly uninvited sense of suspicion. Only an hour ago they were set on selecting anyone but me. What made them change their mind so quickly? "We were wrong about you, Genesis," the woman said. "We now believe you have the potential to do what your unlucky peers could not. However, you should know that there is no room for mistakes." Nareem leaned forward and picked up his chin. On a normal basis, he was about as intimidating as a rabbit. Now, though, he was pretty close to the office cat's level. "Don't mess this up for us, Miss Duri. Otherwise the consequences will be a lot worse than death." --- Genesis has always wanted to lead a mission to the Polus Space Station, orbiting a Jupiter moon millions of miles away. While each attempt to get there has been compromised by the scheming, violent Conclave, Genesis's hopes to become the next captain of the Skeld have not once faltered. When she finally gets the opportunity of a lifetime, Genesis quickly discovers that, despite her caution, all is not what it seems. Her superiors have maintained minimal contact, and she has reason to believe any one of her crewmates could be an imposter. Once the killings begin, she must act quickly to outwit the Conclave before she and all her crewmates are murdered in cold blood. --- **The characters are original, but this story is based off a game called Among Us. The concept of spaceship crewmates being killed by an imposter does not belong to me, but to the game developers (Innersloth). They also came up with the names "Polus" and "Skeld", as well as the layout of the space station most of the story is set in and the tasks crewmates are required to do. ***Content warnings: murder, peril, mentions of blood

"And if I fail?" I asked my handler. "We'll find someone else to replace you. But I don't think you'll fail. I've got several bets that are placed on you winning." I gulped. "Why?" "Everyone loves an underdog. Just don't blow my money. Kill that crew." I swallowed and forced my words out. "Yessir." Without a doubt, 3718's life was miserable. From birth, their entire life was geared towards becoming something to be used for another purpose. They were a part of a game in where they and another Impostor competed to kill off a crew for entertainment. Whoever killed the least amount of crewmates by the end was flatlined. Along with that, there was also the fact that 3718 had to worry about getting ejected and dying that way as well. Try and resist and you got shot. Get caught and you were ejected. Survive and you live with the knowledge that you ruined uncountable lives. In a race against time, against your own, what'll happen when 3718 gets a chance to escape it all? "We've learned from our mistakes, Altera. Enough blood has already been shed." "That didn't stop the start of World War III, did it?" "No. It didn't. But it ended it." "Human minds are just sacs of salt interacting with proteins. Even now, you live in a world of lies, where everything around you is a construct created by your mind. It betrays you. No wonder why you are all such messes." This is a monument to all of their sins. Many a time, evil was executed in the name of a greater good. While one would hope that humans would learn from the mistakes of our past, we are fickle creatures with short memories, horrible prejudices, and a habit of self-destruction. This is a testament to those who didn't have a voice. Who have a story to share, and yet never got the chance to.
