Clementine is a freshman at Joseph Case High School. Her mother and father recently got divorced, so her and her mother moved from New Jersey to Massachusetts for work.
Clem is nervous for her first day of school. She knew nobody at Case. She got into the school bus, and people talked as she sat alone. That is until a boy couldn't find a open seat, and sits with her.

JCHS is a High School in my area. I do not attend this school currently, but I know that none of the more "violent" events have happened. Case is a very safe school, and I know this because I attend a school in the same school district.
