Eloise has always been a rather clever, ambitious girl. When faith had seemed to condemn her to the slums, her brazen mother thankfully marries a wealthy widower. This turn of events results in her rise as a prodigy violinist under her stepfather's wing.

As she ventures into adulthood, her mother persists that she let go of her perfectly constructed life plan and "just enjoy being in the present". However, how could she when her stepsister continues to remain irritatingly competitive and discriminating? She was going to live life perfectly right and orderly. Amidst her first-world problems, the violinist meets a young Benny Watts, who for some reason can't seem to leave her alone.

Sadly, Eloise is clever enough to realise that not all good things last.

Almost a year after Russia, Beth Harmon returned to her bad habits. Drinking, smoking and ofcourse iridium. She pushed everyone away that she knew and maybe most of all, Benny Watts. With the little determination to live she has left she tries to rebuild bridges with her friends and lovers. And of course this doesn't go without ups and downs and a lot of chess. I fell in love with the queens gambit a week ago and literally ordered the book right after, because I'm not ready move on from this serie yet. I immediately fell in love with Benny Watts the second Beth walked up those stairs where she met him. ofcourse Benny wasn't the endgame and I wasn't happy about that so I started to write this fanfic. I hope I'm not the only one who ships benny and Beth over Townes and Beth. I don't own the characters! Amazingly written by Walter Tevis and directed by Scott Frank.

Leading to the Largest question of all If New York Or Moscow are safe for the two love birds.
