Jamie, a first year college student, is looking to escape her past. You know that story, don't you? It's a bit of a broken record. She arrives at the University of Vermont not knowing anyone or what to expect. Her parents never went to college because one is a former child actor and the other a painter. However, when Jamie meets her roommate, Alex, she realizes how much she missed out on in high school, the study buddies, the parties, the spontaneous excursions. She begins to find her place among her friends. But then she starts to feel different around Alex. Butterflies crowd her stomach, blood rushes to her cheeks whenever she enters the room. As the school year progresses, Jamie can't get Alex's name out of her head, no matter how hard she tries.
One night, Jamie gets drunk at a party and reveals her hidden feelings. She wakes up the next morning to find Alex in her bed. She cannot remember what happened last night after her confession. When Alex wakes up, neither can she. The two's relationship is put into question as they grapple with the unlikely possibility that they see each other as more than friends. What they decide will change the course of both their lives forever.
