"What did they call us?" she whispered to the man.  It was a rather astonishing question, for they both clearly heard the one strange name the hunting men shouted at them.  

They were both covered in dirt from head to toe, with ripped clothing and dark circles under their fiery eyes due to stress after the invasion.  Their dirt encrusted legs flung to the moist, grassy ground, numb and tired after days of running.    

His fierce eyes glanced around the forest for any more gunmen before answering.  Shots echoed against the stormy clouds.  The familiar scent of smoke filled their noses.  Ten days ago, Anemone would have coughed from the thick air.  Already in that time she had become acquainted with her new life on the run.  

"The Wounded," he breathed.

Before she could question the stranger any longer, the ground vibrated violently once more, sending shocks of adrenaline to Anemone's pounding heart.

The world hundreds of years in the future from now faces what may be it's end.  Ophelia sensed it, days before the invasion began.  All there was left for her to do after her town was left in ruins, was run.  At the time it was a source of mindless escape, but once she met the charming young man who always secretly treasured her, they uncover just how vital their survival is, for the fate of all future generations depend on it.

Jungkook and I looked at each other. We both then aimed at her with our weapons at the same time. She then let a small smirk appear on her face. - Taehyung: "I'm a monster, right?" Min-seo: "You're not a monster." - Jungkook: "I will kill him and if it's the last thing I do." I said and threw the chalice, breaking the mirror. After that he stared at the broken glass still sticking to the mirror and let a tear escape his eyes. - Taehyung: "I lost everything I had." - Min-seo: "What happened?" I asked, after I noticed he was wearing an armour. Jungkook: "Nothing, I have something to take care of." He left. The door was wide open and I stared into the night, where he disappeared. - The eyes of the little boy only saw his father being hit again and again, till he fell down. "Who's out there?" One of the men yelled. Of course only silence met them. I remained quiet and waited for the group to start moving again. "Maybe it was just an animal." Someone whispered. "Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?

For a moment I fear she's mad at me but then she puts her head on my shoulder and I know we're okay.

Each group is forbidden to go past the gates that hide their villages. Naikee is sick and tired of living within the walls of her villages, and she's always wondered what it would be like to go past them. On the morning of her Celebration of Life (basically a birthday), she finds a whole in the wall and runs past the gates and into the wild. After days of traveling she accidentally runs into a group called the Kaiboo, which are one of the most dangerous groups in the world. They are known for their cannibalism, though no one has ever dared to enter their gates. Before anyone can capture her, a boy named Mika runs into her and takes her to a secret underground storage. He only goes to her and talks to give her the meals at morning, afternoon, and night. After several days of this same thing, Naikee finally confronts him and makes him tell her whats going on. They get to talking, and he comes back to check on her more often now. As she develops a crush and they fall in love, they don't realize but they might be changing the course of history. Note: I'm sorry about the spacing, I'm not exactly sure how to do this because it's my first story. But her family loved her to death. It all changed when she turned ten. The world was changing. She remembers the exact day at the exact time. Her birthday; she calls it the hell day. Something bad always happens on her birthday and that year was the worst so far. On February 20/2020 at exactly 2:20 On the news they had let out the horrible announcement. Scientist's experiments had gone wrong. They call them the "Stone Devils". They were escaping from the labs and into our world. Made of stone and all male. Winged creatures that come into the night. Steal and kill their prey. That's what she heard but she didn't believe it until a few nights ago. (kinda like the movie Warm Bodies)
