Ammie Brians just wants a peaceful last few months before she goes off to college. With no last-minute love interest, no newfound best friend and certainly not the prospect of having to move again in the middle of her final year because of a job offer her mother receives. But most importantly to be able to use the last ounce of will she has left to suppress the memories of her twin sister Annie Brians and the week they both spent together when she and her family came to Washington for the first time to meet with Ammie since they both were forcefully separated at 3 years old. Ammie wants to forget about the encounter, even though it was the best week of her entire life, because since then Annie never tried to contact her again. Whereas Annie Brians who lives halfway across the world in England simply wants to continue living the privileged life she has been living with all the love, care and kindness that comes with it from her father and stepmother.
