Elisabeth Chase has had it rough, from losing Luke to the rivalry with Percy, her sister's boyfriend, Elisabeth just wants to be left alone, which she should have known was impossible being a demigod. So now, stuck in a place she has no place being, she has to find her way through power-hungry boys, a hostile potential lover, and a severely untrusting owl, Eliza is welcomed into the arms of Camp Jupiter.

Annabeth, on the other hand, has had a crazed mother whisper in her ear and dreams of her sister, who she has never understood, find her place with people their mother has deemed the enemy. Annabeth, through nonconsensual memory sharing, finally realizes why Eliza seems to hate the world, and why she fits in with the Romans.

This is not a story of heroes and villains, it is a story of two sisters, who would do anything to protect the ones they care about. This is a story of war within themself.
