Tau is a 12 year old girl from China, dealing with PTSD, (post traumatic stress disorder) Schizophrenia, anxiety, epilepsy and depression. She has a black Labrador retriever named Willow, a Psychiatric & Seizure Service Dog , and a Psychiatric Alert Dog named Saakshi, a white German Shepherd, who are both helping her deal with her health conditions. As a new arrival at CHS (Canterlot High School) she is learning what it is like to have friends,  and is learning how to speak English better.

However, she meets seven girls,  Rainbow Dash, Sunset Shimmer, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Sci-Twi (Science Twilight Sparkle) and Fluttershy.  But Rainbow Dash is suddenly starting to show signs of major depression, and a little bit of anxiety here and there. Tau is learning how to  comfort her new friend, but she's afraid that Rainbow Dash is to far into the depression to come out of it. But Tau and the mane 6 must find out who is responsible for Rainbow Dash's depression, because Rainbow Dash is afraid to tell them who did it.

It's around this time they meet Fitz Vacker, who goes in and changes Sophie and the Equestria Girls' lives forever. Soon, they go to the Lost Cities, and when Alden Vacker gives the news about Sophie having to leave her human family, he also explains that, due to the discovery, the Equestria Girls have to stay in the Lost Cities as well. He's completely aware that they had been sucked into the story, and for good reason. He also says that they need to split when it came to relocating them, just so nothing bad would happen. As the girls go through Sophie's journey of discovering her true self as one of the most powerful elves in the Lost Cities, they make friends, fall in love, and discover unimaginable powers they never expected to have before this. However, with this new life comes secrets. Sophie's life isn't like the other elves. She has a secret past, one Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Sunset may also be connected to. Starlight knows. She now knows everything. Upon seeing the seven Equestria Girls leaving their last movie, they have no choice but to spill their story. Of course, she insists on going too, saying she can replace Rainbow Dash temporarily (as she's down for the count currently). And so they do. Now in the movie world, they meet 12 sisters and their father, King Randolph. And as a twist, Randolph's mind has changed to believe that the newcomers are just seven more of his daughters. Even the sets and plotlines change to add to this effect. Of course, the 12 sisters are quick to figure out the truth, just as Randolph brings in his cousin, Duchess Rowena, to turn them into "proper princesses." Rowena takes away everything the girls love. But one night, they all uncover a magical world, where they can dance to their hearts content. Starlight finds herself falling in love with a fantastical movie world she doesn't want to leave. But like with the golden pavilion, all good things had to reach an ending. And in the case of the movie, they have to stop Rowena before she poisons Randolph and takes over the kingdom.
