How many of you can say that you're happy with your life ? I am. I have a lovely sister, who I look up to, turn to when making any decision of my life including the color of my nail polish, her husband Nick, the most kind and charming man who can never say no to my sister or me for that matter and their cute-est 4 year old son Alvin, my bundle of joy and Brady, my boyfriend, the captain of St. Peter's basketball team and the reason behind the flirtatious laughs of all girls.

2 years later...

How many of you are happy with your life ? Me neither. It's weird how at a point everything is perfect in life, rather too perfect that we don't realise until everything goes wrong. How one day you feel you're void of all emotions, how you didn't deserve all you had cause you never valued. Driving to pick up Alvin from his school, I turn the music up to rid my mind of past and focus on the best excuse I can come up with as to why I failed the test when Mr.Dracula announces today's Web Designing scores in the class tomorrow. Realising I reached Alvin's school and upon finding him alone under the tree, I decide to park my car and go near him. Sitting beside him I say "Hey buddy!" and ruffle his hair, he turns to me with teary eyes and hugs me...

WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

'No, he didn't'. I was so shocked by the turn of events. Everything was going fine and then suddenly boom, everything turned upside down. I just couldn't believe this. What did he think of himself? 'Leave me alone.' I said firmly but his hold on me was so strong. I was struggling to get out of his bear hold but to no avail. 'Oh!! So, the poor lady thinks that I will leave her alone and just let her go free?' He had that evil laugh and boy, his breath stank. 'Man, you just signed your death warrant and I will do one favour on you.' No one messes with me. 'Ooooh, I am so scared that I almost peed my pants.' Again that idiotic laugh. I counted till 5 and then kicked right in his balls. I turned around and grabbed his hair from roots, jerked them so badly and then gave my hard elbow shot on his chin. Everything happened so fast for one moment he was standing and the other lying on floor wiggling. I charged at him with my cheetah speed, picked up a wooden rod and started hitting him wildly, 'You idiotic stinky breath was trying to steal my backpack. You are so dead.' 'Favour, favour, favour.' He was screaming in pain just after few seconds and was panting hard. I picked my paste from my bag and threw at him, 'Brush your teeth.' I was fuming. I turned around and saw him standing wide-eyed, 'Hi, I am Scarlett.' I smiled showing my 32 teeth. 'I am scared.' His look puzzled me. CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. In the first second that I laid my eyes on you, everything that I have ever wanted out of life flashed right before my eyes. I could envision us going on picnics, stuffing our faces until we felt sick, holding hands until there was nothing but sweat between us, and introducing you to my parents in hopes that they would love you just an ounce of the way that I loved you. I could see us fighting over the remote only to end up not paying attention to the television program at all. And most of all, I could see you meaning something special to me- being that one consistent person in my life. But that second soon ended and I did not even know your name. Avery Davenport is an artist chaos. On the outside, a girl with her head in books, paint on her fingertips, and one foot in front of the other. On the inside, a girl with hate in her heart, regret in her veins, and self-loathing in her every system. Following a tragic turn of events, she begins to spiral. A tragic and fatal ending that she didn't have the answers to completely causes her to unravel. Pain slowly begins to be masked in the beds of the boys she meets, in her dark and quiet room, and subsequently on the ledge of her dorm room balcony. She didn't believe in hope or happy endings, never having conjured up one for herself or others, not until she met him. Dean Carter is all things remarkable. On the outside, a boy with ironed clothes, hair always perfected, and an ever dashing smile that could melt one's every sorrow. On the inside, a boy with cognizance in his brain, hope in his veins, and loneliness in his heart. Everything in his life has happened according to plan. His every happiness stems from medical books, sunsets, and seeing his loved ones smile. He has never been in love, never so much as thought about a girl beyond what left her lips, not until he met her. Please read the foreword for trigger warnings and disclaimers. I was just thinking. I swear. But maybe my mind over thought. It's weird that everything can seem so simple, straight forward. Black and white. Two colors. So obvious. So there. Him and Her. Two people. So obvious. So there. But once you add gray, things get kind of complicated. Then you add color. And it's a wonderfully complicated bright world. She's two in one. The storm and the shade. No one ever stops to thank the storm for shading them from what's above it. What if the sun was too strong, too powerful that day and the storm came along just to protect us all from it? It was this epic battle between the two and the storm was hurting and it cased all this damage to the earth. No one thanks the storm for its sacrifice when it finally loses the battle and the sun shows its smug face. We all hate the storm for the disaster it created and praise the sun, when the storm just wanted to protect us. The storm and the shade. She's the storm and the shade. She's the chaos and the calm. Only I can't see the chaos. Not fully. She's keeping it all inside. All I see is the calm. I can tell though. I can tell there's chaos. I just can't see it. It's not so black and white. It's not a simple boy likes girl. Girl likes boy. It never was. But I like her. I do. The storm and the shade.
