The Elusive Smoking Gun
Summary: Within the confines of a highly secured area, a sniper kills the state senator. The police apprehend the suspect in under three minutes. Successful in his devious plan to hide the rifle; the killer waited on a bench, and showed no sign of fleeing. An extended search by the FBI failed to locate the murder weapon. With no evidence to hold him, the sniper walked. The case remained unsolved for years.

Marcus turned around to see if anyone had followed him upstairs, but then he saw no one except a painting on the wall. "Leonardo!" the voice yelled again. "Stop playing games with me. Get me the fuck out of here! Right fucking now!" "Gianna?" Marcus yelled back. "Is that you?" There was no response for a moment. He was assuming that the woman was assessing the situation. "Gianna?" Marcus yelled again. "Hey, it's me! I'm getting you outta here!" "Marcus! How did you get in here?" "Don't worry about it!" He punched the door knob like a clueless idiot, testing if it would break that easily. But he guessed not. All he got in the process was a half-broken knuckle. "Stay away from the door!" he yelled at the woman. "What?!" she replied. Marcus decided to take a few steps away from the door, positioned his shoulders at the right angle, and inhaled a small amount of air for his chest to relax. He allowed his mind to grab the momentum. Afterwards he called it a start and rushed toward the door, like an angry bull upon seeing a red flag.

With how much she likes fish, I swear, she might even turn into one. "You- don't know how it-" She stops herself. I raise my brow, slowly loading the gun. Enough is enough. "You," I grab her cloth, putting the gun to her neck, "Are really a time waster. And yet.. I trusted you." Silence. A few seconds after, she gets a file from her pocket. And- makes the gun shoot her. What? Well, that's interesting... maybe. No, not interesting at all! Why would she- ugh. I didn't even wanted to have a gun in the first place... I unwillingly drop the gun. I pick up the file, and a tear crosses my face. I indeed trusted her... The file is confidential. Hm. Looks like she shot herself in order to not answer the soon to be questions that will appear after reading this, yes? Damn it. I open the file, and... ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐀𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞
