A man wakes up after being rescued not knowing who he is or where he is from. His entrance into this world was everything but common. The world is strange and magical. A mystery of his origins must be eventually found out and to see if he could ever regain or return to what was lost.

This is an original Character origin story set in the campaign world of Exandria. Written by Mathew Mercer for his campaign world for the hit series Critical Role. Explorer's Guide to WildeMount published by Wizards of the Cost and Critical Role. As well as the Critical Role Web series will be used as reference material. There is no plans at this time to include the main story Characters,The Mighty Nien, or Vox Machina.

Knowledge of Critical Role or Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. Is not necessary to enjoy this story. But would be beneficial.

This is my story set in a world I fell in love with. I hope you will join me on this journey and as I attempt to write a great story. Of a man who searches for meaning and purpose in a foreign world. But fate already it seems to have one already in mind.

Tome of Whitetree: Book of Gideon: Chapter 1 de WhitrtreeGuild
29 partes Concluida Contenido adulto
"They told me the world was full of wonders-cathedrals lit by divine fire, noble kings with wise hearts, and saints who walked with halos of gold. So I left the abbey in my forty-third year, parchment and quill in hand, to write of such marvels. Instead, I found Sir Gideon. He was no saint. He said little, prayed often, and wore his helmet like a burial mask. His sword was older than his soul, and his armor smelled of smoke and blood. And yet, when he walked into a village about to be razed or stood between a tyrant and a trembling child, the earth seemed to pause. I followed him-because I thought he was holy. I stayed because I learned holiness isn't always beautiful. Our journey took us through war-torn fields, outlaw dens, and ruins haunted by more than ghosts. I met women who had lost everything and still believed, children who cried in the shadows, and men who wore virtue like a lie. And through it all, Sir Gideon carried his shame like a cross-his silence heavy, his justice swift, and his kindness... well-hidden. These are not stories of triumph and trumpet blasts. They are the quiet accounts of a knight who does not see himself as good, and a halfling who once thought goodness came with clean robes and clear answers. I wrote them because the world needs to know: Some heroes do not look like heroes. And sometimes, the greatest light comes from the most battered lantern..."

Welcome, traveler. Step into the Crownless Lands-a realm that should have been golden but never was. The maps still show grand borders; the songs still promise glory. But up close you'll find frayed banners, broken vows, and people trying to live between the teeth of history. Here, adventurers hunt fortunes that refuse to be found. Heroes rise late or fall early. Lives are traded, stolen, and sometimes-miraculously-saved. And the creatures? Some stalk the roads and terrorize the villages. Others arrive with a lesson sharp as a blade. And the kingdom's worst monsters wear crowns made of lies. --- What You're Getting Into: A weekly high/dark-fantasy pulp serial-fast, moody, full of intrigue, sorcery, and razor twists. Each episode lands a complete beat and ends on a cliffhanger. Where It All Unravels: A continent under a failing crown: forts crumble, roads go quiet, new rules harden. Towns and frontiers fend for themselves-more grit than resources. Bloodlines, Beasts & the In-Between: Shifts among humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, and classic creatures-some scourge, some uneasy allies. How the Story Moves: Chapters leap across the map, braiding many plots into one struggle. Local skirmishes mirror the bigger fight for a crown no one can hold. The People Worth Bleeding For: An ensemble of adventurers, exiles, heirs, and schemers. Not every arc finds light-some rise late, fall early, or trade all for one mercy. Your Weekly Drop: New chapters every Thursday, 6-10k words. Each deepens the world, sharpens the cast, and drives the saga-great for weeklies and first-timers. Important Note: The story follows multiple destinies; chapters are non-sequential and jump between plots across the Crownless Lands.
