A short story about a man named James Ervick. He has moved out of his parents house and hopes to be greeted by a world of freedom. Unfortunately, his aggressive outlook on life has forced him to retreat to his inner thoughts. Readers are provided with a first person view into the head of James. This provides key context taking you through his descent into insanity. He finds that the dark is rogue but it is only amplified by an omnipotent being he refers to as Misery. James feels sanity becoming distant and eventually embraces it.
