Embers of Love

"When I found you, the sun found me."

~

It has been 2000 years since Runyu's ascension to the Heavenly Throne. Citizens of the Six Realms are beginning to question the Heavenly Emperor's ability to cope with both Heaven's affairs and his old duties as the Night Immortal, which he refuses to give up. Unwilling to crown a Heavenly Empress and scornful at the idea of taking a consort who can bear him a successor, the cold and contemptuous silver dragon has no other choice but to begrudgingly request the help of the lovely Light Immortal, Juying.

Astute, charming, and an absolute sweetheart. The sparkling jewel of heaven. Or so they say.

Runyu reserves his suspicions of what might lurk under the Light Immortal's whimsical, exuberant persona and the warm, enchanting smile she keeps turned to the world. Perhaps the calculating and ruthless emperor might have finally met his match...

Manipulate, or be manipulated. To bestow favour, or to callously punish. Trust in her innocence, or realize her insolence. In a court of hypocrisy and cruel mind games, and a Light and Night Immortal as disparate as Yin and Yang at the centre of it all, the non-refundable cost of admissions is a heart.

Winner takes all, and the loser only makes one mistake. Who shall bear the catastrophic consequences?
