It was all stupid.
She found herself running back, as if some magical force was pulling her towards him- towards the danger. She hated Draco Malfoy and everything he stood for.
But at the same time she pitied him. And the part of her that did pity him, Hermione despised.
Because she was given a challenge, something Hermione couldn't allow herself to turn down. She vowed then and there that she would bring Draco Malfoy to his knees, and turn him into the man he should have been from the start.

Obnoxious. Loud. Snobby. He could come up with a whole lists of dislikes he had for the brightest witch of their age, but what he hated her the most for was that she was perfect.
Perfect in the way she talked. Perfect in her walk. Perfect in all her fucking perfect Gryffindor glory. He wanted nothing more to ruin her, tarnish her and make her crumble until she was nothing but a filthy mudblood.
