         Sam has been blind most of her life but she suddenly regains her sight one morning. She later realizes that the people taking care of her aren't her family, in fact she doesn't even know them, so she must find out who they are and what they have done to her family. While she has the help of her friends she has to deal with the trials, adventures and heartbreaks of being a teenager. 
                Michael wants to just live a life without hate and to have someone who loves him more than they love the world. But he has to deal with his brother always picking on him  and his boyfriend. He also just wants to be ok, he feels like he is trying to hard or not trying enough. 
             Marvin just really wants to forget about his past and start new but he can't seem to run away from his problems for too long, he also just wants to be loved. And deal with the fact that being "normal" was never an option for him.

If you want to read about "Normal" teenagers, maybe this isn't for you, it's more complicated than that. Who watched his father lose his job in the Recession and then loses his home, and how he copes, especially when he learns that their new house is haunted and the ghost is in his room. Michael was an average kid, although he's always stood out. He was a school jock but also a skater whose long blond hair almost reaches his waist. When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. Then his father lost his job and suddenly those "friends" weren't there anymore--except for his two best friends, Short Round and Dewey. The three are skaters, good ones, who live for girls and their skateboards. They're also basically good kids who take pride in being different without paying attention to it. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his.
