"Why me?" I asked exasperatedly. "You do all of this for me, and why? For what reason?"
"That's where you're still wrong, honey," he said darkly. "I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing this for me. I wanted you, so now you're mine-that's all there is to it. And by being mine, if someone hurts you, they're hurting me. And I am not one to take that disrespect lightly. Do you understand me?"
"No."
"You will." He knelt next to me, his face hovering over mine, his arms on either side of the machine, caging me beneath his upper body. "I will ruin you-I'll fit you to my mold; I'll take that goody-two-shoes girl you are, and turn her into a force to be reckoned with. One that's mine." I quivered. "All mine."
"I..." His proximity had me beyond nervous. My throat constricted as I tried to regain my composure. "Will never be yours."
He laughed, his hand caressing my cheek. "You and I both know you already are."
