A Court Of Thorns And Roses
A short story based off of "A Court of Ink and Dreams" by @luciddreqms The kingdom of Hybern isn't a fair place. A small fae from the Summer Court seems to know a lot about that. His views don't line up with what everyone else thinks. Patrick Harper has a lot of problems, and entering a selection for the High Fae didn't seem to make that any better. Note: I don't know a lot about ACOTAR so this is based off purely what I know from the roleplay; I have not read the books. Please don't yell at me if I get something wrong.

Some say that everyone's fate is already determined. If that's the case, Estelle Marzena is greatly disappointed with hers. Her greatest dream is to participate in the Illyrian Blood Rite and become a Carynthian warrior, like so many in her family. She has been training for the Rite her entire life, and yet, she continues to be told that she isn't ready. Estelle must find a way to prove her skills to her mentors so that she can prove her skills to the world, and she might have unwittingly stumbled across a way to do that. Being the bastard son of the High Lord of Dawn isn't something Mikael Anik takes lightly. Despite his parents' love and acceptance, Mikael continued to feel the pressure and unease of his people. His birth parents never married and he is a Peregryn halfbreed, the likes of which had never become a High Lord before. Mikael is devoted to proving himself to both his fathers and his people, but can he do that and deal with a surprisingly irritating Shadowsinger at the same time? Disclaimer: I do not own the ACOTAR series or the characters and places therein. I take credit only for this story and my original characters. This story is set several years after A Court of Silver Flames and follows the storyline laid out in my previous fanfictions. This story may not fall in line with the actual storyline once the ACOTAR series is continued and will NOT be updated to match it. Warning: This book, while being a work of fiction, still deals with real elements. There will be chapters dealing with sexual content, depression, gore, PTSD, and other topics which some might find triggering.
