It started off as a parasite or maybe a virus dixie wasn't sure no one was.one thing she did know was that people were rising from the dead hours after death.
She called them walkers most people might call them zombies but dixie always found that word to be cheesy.she guessed it didn't really matter what she called them as long as she didn't get scratched or bit and as long as she always shot them in the head.

No could figure out at first how and where it came from or how even spread so quickly. I was on leave, visiting brother in Boston when the infection hit.
