The head of the Ministry of Love, Dolores Umbridge announced the newest soulmates, reading them from a long piece of parchment. Harry watched from the sidelines, hiding himself in a dark cloak. He looked on in fury and disgust. He had only a year until he was sorted.

Only a year to abolish this broken fucking system.

Everyone, at the age of fifthteen, is assigned a soulmate from the Ministry. Supposedly, every couple is sorted to perfection. They're made for each other, the Ministry would say.

But Harry knew better.

Harry had joined an organization, the Order of the Phoenix, they called themselves. The Order was determined to deconstruct the broken system. A plan was well underway, and there was certainity amongst the group that it'd work.

That is, until Harry Potter met Draco Malfoy.

Draco fully believed in the system Harry declared broken. He could not wait to meet his soulmate! And because of such, he was rather confused to overhear a handsome stranger (who he later learned to be Harry Potter) muttering to himself about the unjust-ness of the sorting.
