Nico di Angelo is a mess. His mother is dead, killed by a drunk driver on a busy highway when Nico was seven. His dad is never around, leaving Nico and his sister Bianca to be raised by a series of au pairs who didn't pay attention either. When Bianca dies and Nico is left with his uncaring father, abusive au pair Helena and his own thoughts for company, he can't take anymore. He needs a way out, and he can only think of one...
Will Solace can't figure out Nico. He knows that Nico's been acting out at school, and he's smart enough to know that it may well be connected to problems at home. He knows that his sister died last year, and he hopes he's made it clear to Nico that if he needs a shoulder to cry on, Will is there for him.
Will tries to help Nico as best he can, but when he catches Nico cutting, he knows that Nico needs more than just a friendly word now and then. He starts to stick to Nico like a limpet, making sure he eats, making sure he sleeps, making sure he can handle his workload. Nico grumbles at first, but soon he's grumbling just for show, and a friendship begins between the two boys that slowly, surely, blossoms into something more...

"Come on neeks, or We'll be late," Will said as he put his hand under Nico's armpit to hoist him up. He succeed but was met with one of the deadliest glares. *"Che diavolo amico?" Nico spoke out with an attitude, so Will assumed it was bad, but hey he doesn't know Italian. So he just frowned and shot back with his own, *"O te obligo o te levantas tú mismo". Nico didn't understand it Will said it assertively so he took it as a threat and scurried off to the bathroom. Nico diAngelo didn't really have a problem with moving, he just continued his life how it was before. Writing, listening to music, sitting in the back of the classroom, making sure not to get too close to anyone, and maybe falling asleep in class. Also spending half of his energy keeping himself from falling apart. That is, until he met Will. Will was like medicine for his heart. When Will held his hand, it felt as if he could relax and let go of his troubles, but when he had to let go, that was something he wasn't ready for, causing to have meltdowns for the first time in a long time. Will had been living a rather boring life in his town, same faces, same friends, he wanted change. When the new boy was in some of his classes at the start of the new school year, Will couldn't help but be curious after seeing the same faces almost all of his life. He was drawn to him in some way he couldn't describe, and couldn't help falling for him as they spent more time together. This book has characters that are created by Rick Riordan, yet there are a few, like Nico's father which is a small character that I created. This book has come from my own imagination, and if it seems that parts of the plot are from another story, that is entirely coincidental.Complete
