This fanfiction is a saga of a unique love, unwavering trust & impeccable devotion. It's based on the show 'Barrister Babu', that is being broadcasted on 'Colors TV'. The central characters are the lead protagonists of the show namely Anirudh Roy Chaudhary and Bondita (later Bondita Roy Chaudhary) Anirudh Roy Chaudhary is a young 22 years old London returned barrister, belonging to an affluent Zamindar (Landlord) family, who has moved back to his home land in order to bring change in the society & empower women of his country. Anirudh is a strong-willed, righteous but short tempered young man, who defies and stand against the old norms which bring a sense of inequality in the society. This character is portrayed onscreen by the young actor Pravisht Mishra. Bondita urf Bondita Roy Chaudhary is a 11 years old girl belonging to a humble livelihood, who lives with her widowed mother, maternal uncle, his wife and daughter also her cousin Sampoorna. Bondita is a strong-headed girl with a voice, which she raises to question and counter the social prejudices and perils taking place in her surroundings. This character is portrayed onscreen by the child actor Aurra Bhatnagar Badoni. The premises of the story are set around 1920s, in a town named Tulsipur of the Bengal Presidency, British India (now West Bengal, India) Anirudh, post returning to his hometown, goes to the wedding of his childhood friend & his father's secretary's (Munshi's) son Saurav, who is getting married to Sampoorna. Bondita on the other hand unknown to her aunts intentions to get her married to a man in his 80s for the sake of money, post consuming kheer (dessert) (brought by her aunt), adulterated with sedatives, is sound asleep. In the ceremony Anirudh encounters the unethical wedding, stops and confronts the people involved. Meanwhile, amid all the ruckus & chaos, Bondita's prospective groom dies. The society demands Bondita to perform sati (self-immolation) & that is where this epic saga begins...

Set in pre independent Bengal , ANIDITA: A TALE OF ETERNAL LOVE is an imaginary story of two individuals, Anirudh Roy Chowdhury, a 20 year old London return Barrister, whose only aim is to improve the condition of women in his country , and Bondita Roy Chowdhury/ Bondita Das, a village girl, who has the courage to ask questions which even adults cannot imagine and don't have answers to. In an effort to save a 12 year old Bondita from becoming a Sati, Anirudh marries Bondita. As time passes, Anirudh and Bondita become really good friends. Soon Anirudh decides to send Bondita to school and hence, Bondita becomes the first girl in Tulsipur, her in laws' village, to ever go to school. Both husband and wife share one dream, that is, sending Bondita to London to secure a Barrister degree. With Anirudh's support and under his guidance, Bondita manages to excel in her studies and always stands first in her class in all the subjects. But soon there is a major change of events. The British GovernGovernment passes a law that Child Marriage is illegal and is a punishable offence. Due to his alliance with the Brahmo Samaj, the members urge him to set an example for the society by breaking off his marriage and giving Divorce to his wife. Even though both Bondita and Aniruddh are reluctant, they decide to do the unthinkable just to encourage and spread awareness in the society about how Child Marriage is wrong. They sign the Divorce papers thus leading to the annulment of their marriage. Both the Roy Chowdhury and the Das families are heartbroken and against their decision. But eventually both the families give in and accept the decision of their children. Even after being legally divorced, Aniruddh doesn't leave the side of Bondita and continues to be her mentor and friend. After some days , Anirudh sends Bondita to London to complete her studies.
