After leaving Hogwarts and joining the Order of the Phoenix, Harriet Blue and her Gryffindor friends begin their fight against the Dark Lord and his army of Death Eaters. At only 19 years old, there is so much they have to learn and so much they have to lose.
Encountering a new pain each day, Harriet finds that her friend Sirius Black can make it disappear temporarily and they find great use in each other until it develops into something more and had the adverse effect. The years fly by as they all have to fight, to love and to cherish the time they have with each other until the unimaginable happens and the war seems to be only one of many hardships.
