With the first real lead in the investigation, they wonder if this group has turned cyberspace justice into reality by dispensing their own brand of vengeance. As the ritualistic killings leave America's heart reeling, Maggie gets a second lead-one that leaves her stunned. 

For the past four years she has been driven by blind determination to find Father Michael Keller, the human monster whose acts of brutality continue to haunt her to this day. Sick and twisted, the priest seems to have vanished without a trace. But with an irony that only life can offer, now he has become the target. The drawing she just found was a realistic depiction of myself smiling at the person who saw it. Unlike myself, who felt joy and inspiration from seeing father draw me this, mother was scared witless. Her legs became jelly, her body was paralyzed. All she could do was stare at the drawing, knowing that no one could have drawn this except an adult. And she knew I did not talk to any adults- or did I? Now she couldn't be too sure. This picture was from someone who knew how I looked, even getting the dimples on my cheeks and small birthmark on the side of my neck. It was someone that had to know me very well.

This story is not getting the attention it deserves, so I am attempting to "re-brand" it. Maybe no one "gets" it. If you want to read about "Normal" teenagers, maybe this isn't for you, it's more complicated than that. It's about a teenager who doesn't fit it, but doesn't want to, who has the best two friends that anyone could have. Who watched his father lose his job in the Recession and then loses his home, and how he copes, especially when he learns that their new house is haunted and the ghost is in his room. Michael was an average kid, although he's always stood out. He was a school jock but also a skater whose long blond hair almost reaches his waist. When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his.
