There is a moment in everyone's lives where you finally open your eyes. You open your eyes only to be met by pain, despair, sorrow, death, heartache etc. And you realize how stupid... And worthless humans are, how weak and naive we are. Born to die. To serve no purpose other than our own. But once you endure the deafening sorrow and ache, you've opened your eyes wider. You've seen farther than the pain. The life before death. But there are others so consumed by the pain, the darkness, they shut there eyes before they witness the beauty. The love before heartache, the hope before the despair. Then there's me. I who knew the darkness, witnessed the light. But I who hasn't allowed the light to consume me. I lived in the dark, watching the light consume all those around me. I thought I would be consumed by the darkness, that I would shut my eyes to never bask in the light. Until I found someone just as deep in the darkness as I. And as fate would have it, we damned each other.
