I look around for a route of escape and thankfully I see a light, literally, at the end of the second tunnel. I let out a small, almost inaudible, gasp and nudge Joey. He looks at me and I subtly gesture with my head to the second tunnel. He glances at it and immediately we are on the same page. His jaw sets and he looks at the group. The man speaks up again, chuckling darkly-a sound I will never forget and will be permanently etched into my brain, "You can thank your father for starting this mess." -------------------------- Liza was a normal teenaged girl, living the average life that an eighteen year old girl should be living. "BUT NO YOU HAD TO RUIN EVERYTHING! DIDN'T YOU!!! YOU BITCH!! I'LL KILL YOU!!" He bellows and throws her to the ground, hard. "Boss she needs our help!" Alex says from the back seat, but before I can pry my eyes away from them and remove my death grip off the steering wheel to open my door I hear him scream at her again "FUCK OFF HOME!! NOWWW! BEFORE I KILL YOU!!" In the blink of an eye she gets up and takes off running. Running his hand through his hair and cursing he strides across the parking lot and back to the bar, we watch him as he disappears inside. "Do you think she's ok? It looked like he really hurt her boss" donnys says quietly, almost at a whisper towards the end. "Let's find out" I grit out as I start the car and peel off out the parking lot to find her, she couldn't have gone far.
