The word gay has been synonymous of liberation, fight, human rights, homosexuality, lesbianism, etc but it has become synonymous of excess, abuse of freedom, hatred, self-loathing as well among men and women who feel the emotional and physical desire to be with somebody of their own sex. I do not wish to diminish in any way the important role of the gay liberation movement, the point I'm making is a reflection on how this generous and initially noble action has been tinted by fanatism and dogmatism. We may not hit each other but the power of words has been used constantly against each other diminishing, offending and alienating us.
