Long after Darkstalker, but before the Dragonet Prophecy, the SandWings and IceWings were at war. It was during that time that Diamondback, a SandWing dragonet, lived.

Diamondback is an orphan who lives in the Scorpion Den. She gets taken by enforcers and forced to do military training to eventually work in the Queen's army. The problem is that she is about as loyal to the Queen as a camel to the ocean, and vows to kill Queen Gazelle the first chance she gets. The only thing standing in her way: her own conscious and an entire Den of dragonets...

A/N: This story is currently on hold, as life is extremely hectic at the moment for me. I also haven't read book 14 yet, so please excuse any inaccurate information I may use. Thank you!

𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙖𝙬𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙖𝙧, 𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙨... Decades of wars and unrest have clawed at the sides of Pyrrhia's dragons for as long as they can remember, and the tales of true peace and dragonets of prophecy are simply whispers of the past. Shrike has never been regarded by his tribe as a real SkyWing. His mother fell ill and passed away when he was a dragonet, and his father, a royal SeaWing, was executed by his dictatorial queen as soon as it was found out that he'd had an affair with a common SkyWing. Still, Shrike remains tethered to the Queen and his tribe. Years of lost wars, unfulfilled treaties, and an excessively lavish lifestyle lived by their ruler, Queen Markhor, have left the SkyWing tribe impoverished and starving, and Shrike, the princess's personal bodyguard, has witnessed the consequences of the Queen's ignorance firsthand. A diplomacy meeting with the SeaWings gone wrong erupts in yet another bloody war, and Shrike is swept up in battle before finding himself caught in between the jaws of the political turmoil that seem to be tearing his tribe apart from the inside out. To make matters worse, a warning delivered years before by the continentally renowned prophet, Hereafter, is unraveling before Shrike's eyes, and its exhortations seem like an echo chamber awfully reminiscent of his own life. That coupled with a newfound power in his claws leaves him spiraling and wondering one question: could 𝘩𝘦 be the terror of talons? ✦ Please read the introductory pages! They will be EXTREMELY informative for understanding the basics of Pyrrhia's situation and the timeline leading up to this story. Consider leaving a vote if you enjoy this story! Constructive criticism and other comments are always welcome.

Chestnut was just a simple soldier in the SandWing war of succession, trying to keep his sibs safe. A loyal and successful soldier. That all changed when the letter arrived. The letter that told him and his sib group to go to a meeting. It was supposed to be a normal meeting, just something to figure out what course of action to take in the war that was tearing apart the continent. But when Chestnut is accused of treason, how can he survive a world that is out to get him? Will he even be able to go back to his tribe? This story is a fanfiction of Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland. Rights go to her. The original things are the most of the characters and part of the plot. This story includes spoilers for Winglets #2: Assassin as well as books #1-5 of Wings of Fire. The cover is in 'practicing drawing MudWings' stage. (moving very slow...)
