What Are Feelings?

Arlen was a normal girl with a normal life.
But not really.
She had a robot-cyborg-android who helped her with everything, went everywhere with her, and had a personality of its own.
The robot's name was Rennie.
Rennie loved Arlen.
But how can a robot love a human?
Rennie, even without a soul or emotions, thought he knew what feelings were.
As Rennie continues to learn and question these strange things, Arlen puts a special chip into his hard drive.
Almost magically, he can really experience emotions.
Even with no tear-ducts, Rennie can now cry.
Even with no vocal chords, Rennie can now laugh.
Will these newfound feelings be good for Arlen and Rennie, or will they break them apart?
