Maggie and her brother are put into an orphanage where they are forced to change their names and lives in general for the sake of their future. They leave everything behind other than a few of their belongings. A few weeks later they are adopted by the best parents ever. They love being in a new place and they get to do loads of fun stuff with their new parents. They meet new friends and everything seems great... or so it seemed. They start seeing their real mom on the news and in the paper. Maggie starts to wonder whether the people that brought them here had told them the truth. Was their mom really the one who was committing the crimes? Was she the reason they were here? Was she really the one who was to be blamed? She wants to know the whole story - but to do that, you have to go beyond the first page.
