- The Queen of Iris -

         The land of Iris, a divided kingdom of peasants, warriors, peacemakers, servants, the middle class, royalty, and of course rebels. Divided by their eye colors to assign their life styles and who they are and meant to be.  After a two hundred year war of the different eye color kingdoms, the green eyes claimed their victory above all the nations, making all others bow down to them and having the assigned roles...

Having the war now be over, the nations live in what they call "Peace" or do they...

           Aspen, a seven-teen year old girl, thrown out to sea at birth and saved by the crusty crew of rebels, grew up never feeling like she belonged to a specific "group" due to the color of her eyes. Unlike others she had one dark brown, which was known as peasants and a green eye, known as royalty.
As she travels the land with her scurvy crew to find her meaning and who she really is, she meets the prince himself...Prince Achilles, will she hate him for how the nation is treated, or love him for who he is...

While there, Adellia meets a young blacksmith by the name of Faron and gets sucked into a plot that goes against her, and her mother's wishes. Will she be able to venture into the unknown, and survive out of the watchful eye of the palace? This book has sexual reference and mentions of things that could possibly be triggering to some - e.g. young motherhood and loss of a parent. This work is usually split into two parts, but I have decided to take down the second part, and consider the first part, one book for now, so I can work on the second. When the second part/book has been finished, I'll decide whether I like it as one book or to reincorporate the rest of the book to make it one. Entered in the Wattys(2020)!
