Sage never considered himself much of a romantic.

He figured he'd have to settle sometime, but he supposes that until now that thought seemed like a distant island in a sea of other things young men like himself are to be concerned about. He's always preferred to be a loyal devotee to his studies, as knowledge is what keeps a man afloat even in his darkest times. At least that's what his father would say. Although he'd never admit it, he would soon find himself under a dark spell, one he never learned to counter.
