I woke up sweating, panting in the middle of the night. It's been four years since they started. The nightmares. Although once I wake up, I remember that I'm still in it.
I go into my en suite bathroom. Maybe some cold water will help. I splash water in my face a few times. Doesn't work.
I decide to just take a shower. So I strip and then turn on the water. Out of the corner of my eye, I see them in the mirror. My lovely, silver reminders. Like shiny tally marks. Arranged in perfect rows from shoulder to my butt.
