If you're anything like me, you found the ending to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker more than unsatisfactory and utterly heartbreaking. While I love the franchise, I cannot help but think of the concluding film and be completely outraged by the ending, wishing Ben Solo never died, believing Rey and Ben deserved better. Even though George Lucas called it a space fairytale, I didn't need a "they lived happily ever after." I at least wanted "they lived." Therefore, on the one year anniversary of Episode IX's release, I present to you "And So They Lived: an Alternate Ending to The Rise of Skywalker." . . . . . . . . . . . . . Venture back into a galaxy far far away as the Resistance defeats the Final Order and Rey eliminates the sinsiter Emperor Palpatine once and for all. Alas, in her efforts, Rey breathes her last breath oncr victory is finally achieved. But not if the newly turned Ben Solo has anything to do with it. He has chased her across galaxies and crawled out of the pits of hell. There is nothing he wouldn't do for the woman he loves. Will Ben succeed in bringing Rey back to life? If by some chance they make it back to the Resistance base, will the former Supreme Leader be accepted? What lies beyond their wildest dreams for the dyad pair? . . . . . . . . . . . . . All rights reserved to George Lucas and the other creators of the Star Wars universe and these beloved characters. A/N: There is only one part to this story.
