***NOW COMING AS A WEB COMIC IN 2021 @icanseeyourreylo on tumblr and Meg Anderson on Patreon! ***
After the destruction of Starkiller Base, Rey is left to come to terms with her Force Sensitivity, and the price it asks. With new expectations suddenly thrust onto her shoulders, and unsure of her place in this new Galaxy she never thought she would see, how can she hope to stay true to herself? After all, Rey has no one to turn to for help with her newfound power. Or does she?

This was written back in 2016 after TFA, and I felt like putting it here too now that I'm working on the webcomic! This does mean that the events of TLJ and TROS don't apply BUT, it is chock full of all the Reylo hopes and dreams from 2016, as well as a lot of deeper Extended Universe lore. I hope you enjoy!

Over the past year, Ben has changed considerably, becoming disillusioned by the First Order and implementing a plan to end the war with the Resistance as its victors. Now, ready to execute the last step of his plan, he has to confront Rey once again. Unfortunately, she has her own opinions about his lofty plan. In this story, it turns out Snoke wasn't lying and he really did create the connections between Kylo Ren and Rey in "The Last Jedi." (Note: This also means there was no Force connection between them on Crait since Snoke was dead by then.) So, there is no Force bond and there's no special link between the two of them. But...that doesn't mean they weren't profoundly affected by the experience. Excerpt: He knew the moment she noticed him, felt it like a stab to his core through the Force. He saw the fierce determination in her eyes and he tried to match it, but was certain he failed. All he could feel was sorrow. The tempo of his steps increased as he covered the ground toward her. He watched as she turned her body toward him, bringing her magnificent dual-bladed, bright white lightsaber to bear, her lips pulling back in a vicious sneer as she sought what she had yet to realize he was here to offer her willingly. Deflecting one last bolt and seeing her raise her weapon with the start of a battle cry intended to lend her extra strength, Ben thumbed his lightsaber off and dropped to his knees at her feet, his head bowed and his eyes closed. Do it, he thought desperately. End me. End my misery.

"When I offer you my hand again, you'll take it." What if Kylo Ren had been right? What if Rey had taken Kylo Ren's hand when he offered it the second time, deciding her best chance at defeating Palpatine and saving the galaxy was with him? But can the two of them overcome their differences and mistrust of each other to accomplish that task or will pride win out? And then there is a certain group of meddling Force Ghosts determined to test them to their fullest. Meanwhile, Finn has a destiny of his own to fulfill chasing visions of his past across the galaxy. Poe buries himself in work as he tries to forget his failures and forge ahead. Leia attempts to cement her legacy and ensure the future of the galaxy. This fanfic explores a different ending to TROS starting at about the halfway point, when Kylo reveals the truth about Rey in the hangar. It will focus mainly on their story but there will be significant plot arcs that focus on Finn, Poe, Leia, and others. There will be a few augmentations to the earlier story, but I have tried to stay true to the plot up until this point, except for the 16 hr deadline Palpatine gave them. His threat was open ended in my version. This will contain mature and graphic content. 11/9/20 #1 in Palpatine #2 in Reylofanfiction 11/24 #37 in Reylo 12/14/20 Almost 9k reads, y'all are the best #61 in Star Wars (out of 26k!) #1 in reylofanfiction #1 in greyjedi 5/2/21 #3 in Reylo I am completely blown away by you all! 5/6/21 #1 in Reylo you all are awesome! I'm starting to move away from canon compliance and adopting some items from the EU but with a heavy dose of artistic license. Early chapters are ~1000 words, later are over 3000. THERE IS GOING TO BE MaJoR TROS SpOpLErS IN THIS FANFICTION. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN The Rise of Skywalker. I do NOT own Star Wars(but wouldn't that be cool?) I do not take credit for anything but the situations I put the characters of Stars Wars in. If I spell something wrong or mix up a fact, please comment so I can try to fix it. There will be crude words and moments because tis life in the galaxy. Also do not read if you do not ship Reylo. I am writing this because I cannot STAND the ending of the Rise of Skywalker even though it needed to end that way and it was really well done. If I didn't ship Reylo, I would've loved the ending. Whelp, this is a fanfiction of how I would've liked it to end. I'm going to make it as similar to the movie as I can while adding my own touches (and a Ben Solo) to it. I'm going to start it right after the part where Emperor Palpatine takes Rey and Ben's Lifeforce during their fight on Exogol. I will be changing POVs too. "I unfurl my fists and close my eyes, just listening to my heartbeat. Until I realize that it's not my heartbeat that I'm hearing."
