Shit, Zuko thought now. If he hadn't been sure before, it was now very clear that she had meant it. Katara of the Southern Water Tribe, he realized, was one he was very lucky to now have on his side.

She grew up practicing her bending and helping Katara with all the chores, while their brother practiced his fighting skills and tried teaching the younger boys of their village. Makki's siblings followed their destiny of helping Aang master all four elements while Makki was stuck on a path with the Fire Nation Prince Zuko and his uncle Iroh. When Makki, Zuko, and Iroh became fugitives from the Fire Nation and refugees inside the Earth Kingdom, Makki had no choice but to help the lost prince find his way onto the right path. But in the end, Makki will find that it's tougher work than she first anticipated, though, she figures out how to connect with the prince and may even develop feelings for him. I remember meeting Prince Zuko very early in my life. He was different back then. For one, he had no scar on his face. But he was also still a sweet little boy. He was still that person somewhere on the inside, but the scar was a visual reminder of the changes he had undergone both physically and mentally. There was no doubt he was lost. But was I wasting my time by trying to help him find his way again? Maybe. But I didn't think so. ••• This story follows an original character Sora as she accompanies the Prince on his journey. Fair warning that there will be changes made to the story. I do not own ATLA or any of the character besides Sora.
