After Hawk Moths long overdue defeat, Cat Noir and Ladybug finally get together. They broke up once they realized how much danger they were putting the city in, four years later at the age 24, a new villain comes to light.

Ladybug will have to see him again, she'll have to fight along side him as if they weren't in love. As if they hadn't shared something incredible. By this time Marinette has already moved on from Adrien and is in a relationship of her own. It all changes in ways she could've never imagined when Cat Noir walked right back into her life.

Ladybug couldn't think of anything to say, she just sat there, hugging him. After a moment of quiet, he broke off the hug. Ladybug looked into his eyes and gave him a smile,

He intends to gain the heroes' Miraculous to grant himself the wish of resurrecting his wife Emilie, who fell prey to using the damaged Brooch of the Peacock and fell into a coma, which will bend reality as they know it. Over the course of the series, as Hawk Moth's minions grow tougher, the heroes get help from Master Fu, the guardian of the Miraculous, who allows the heroes to borrow other Miraculous and recruit more heroes to help them, mainly Marinette and Adrien's classmates. Hawk Moth later gets the assistance from Mayura, a villainess using the damaged peacock using feathers called amoks to create sentimonsters, lifeforms created from someone's emotions, becoming his new partner in crime. Despite all the heroes they recruit and all the enemies they face, both Ladybug and Cat Noir promise each other it is thew 2 of them against the world.
