Here is my version of his love story that takes place right at the end of the original A Court of Thorns and Roses. When Feyre, Cursebreaker, manages the trials and frees everyone, Marlie somehow finds herself winnowed into Velaris, Rhysands other Court. There, she raises the attention of the High Lord and the inner circle for entering through the warding. Especially Azriel's attention. (I wrote this story nearly three years ago, so it's not my greatest work, but I wanted to share it so you can have my take on Azriel's story before Sarah J.
