George sped towards the courtyard, begging his legs to go faster as the sun got closer to dipping down the horizon. If only he had been smarter. If only he had trusted him, he wouldn't be-
He shook his head. He couldn't do anything about the past, all that mattered was right now.
The dew on the grass numbed his feet as he ran, the small garden opening up to the rolling hills he used to love so much.
"DREAM," he screamed, wishing his lungs had more air, "DREAM, WHERE ARE Y-"
He stopped dead in his tracks, panting in the cold, winter air. He looked to the horizon, the sun at a perfect midpoint as the figure in front of him smiled devilishly.
"You're too late."
